    Hi All
I need to load a very large antique mirror into to my wagon- but as door will only open as a door i need to get window down to open tailgate down!

hoping some experts will chime in. Ive read just about every post but not found the answers yet.
My window wont lower but it tries pretty hard- it moves a quarter inch then binds up. I suspected the motor/worm drive or nylon drive- but these are all fine. The motor works on the key and from the dash switch. I took the motor out (what is that mad lower motor fixing to the door with 3 prongs?) and cleaned and greased the drive etc. When i removed the motor the window stayed put- ie right at the top? In the past im sure that would let the window fall down the door?
It seems that window is completely stuck. Ive used PB blaster / grease on all the scissor mech and slides- But it wont budge. Is there a brake or something? or could it be that the regulator is frozen? No amount of pressure on the top of window will move it?

One last question for box wagon owners - which fuse is the rear window fuse?
    many thanks -

Did you get this fixed? I have taken several of these apart and have never experienced your condition. But I have a guess: There are two vertical guide tubes for the glass sash. There are steel follower brackets with plastic liners that surround the guide tubes. Maybe there is severe corrosion on one or both of the tubes?

    Good luck.

    rear window fix

Hi boogie. Yes it fixed. Firstly the rubber seal was pretty shot , letting water and leaves etc down into the tailgate. Being as it rains on a regular basis in the UK the whole mech was severely corroded. The tubes on left and right were OK but the scissor mech was totally locked and rusted solid. I wound the window up and down by using a screwdriver on the metal drive gear but it didnt free off. In the end the only way to fix was removing the whole mech and replacing. All fixed
now- Really good as wide items cant be loaded when the door will only swing open and not down!

Glad to hear you got it fixed. I bet getting parts in the UK for your Safari is no easy task. I've rebuilt several B wagon tailgates and when they are fully cleaned and lubricated, the windows move fast like a guillotine. It is very satisfying to fix these.

Where did you find a new outside tailgate glass wiper seal? Those are very rare.
