    Greetings Wagon Folk!

I'm looking at a '65 New Yorker wagon. Low mileage and nicely optioned. Anything in particular to watch out for? Reliable? Availability of parts? Average price? Any advice is appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Cool old barges. Look for rust in the floors and sub-frame. It's a NYer so it should have a 440 which is tons of fun. The Transmission is a one year only piece for '65 with a column shift cable actuated 727. Not impossible to repair but a bit more homework and money if it needs doing.

Lets see some pics and hear more details.

First year for that body. Didn't have the 'hardtop' stylng anymore, but still a cool, well-equipped wagon.

65 New Yorkers had the 413. 66 was the first year for the 440. I've had two 65 New Yorker Wagons and regret selling them both. I love the glass headlight covers. If you need any parts for it let me know. I have quite a few including a real nice complete grill and headlight covers.

Was there much difference between the 413 and the next years 440? I had a 65 Imperial Crown, which I guess is close to the NY including the 413 and absolutely loved it! To own that as a station would be the ultimate!

Wish they never discontinued the push-button shift.
My only Chrysler Corp. vehicle of this period was also a '65 - a Dart -first year they switched to the 'normal' transmission gear selectors.

Did the change have something to do with bucket seat / floor shift models becoming more popular?

I stand corrected. 413 it is (in Yodas voice) Not too much difference between the 413 and 440 besides cubes really. I'm pretty sure that they even share the same stroke but don't quote me on that. They're both raised deck motors and share intakes, heads (like all big block Mopars) all accessories and are actually kinda hard to tell apart without checking the stamping above the water pump.

    Nice wagon, big bucks though.

I may have a '67 Monaco wagon coming up for sale in the Spring. Not nearly that sweet though and I live far from...everyone.

Never seen a vinyl top link that. Vinyl tops are super rare on wagons in general. Nice unrestored wagon.

I saw that Chrysler on E-bay..Thought it might be the one you were after....

Why is it that all the wagons we really lust after are just out of our price range?
