Notice in many home scenes houses were smaller and simpler. Neighbors were not so close you had to close the shades. Yards weren't landscaped with a million dollars worth of trees and bushes? I'll bet most were paid for in a few years and people were much happier........

That house appears to be sitting off by itself. I don't see any electric line going to it, or any overhead wires (although they could be behind the photographer? Wonder if it had any electricity...or indoor plumbing?

I forgot to mention all that. Also no curtains on windows and a door with damaged screen. Perhaps the people with the wagon were just looking it over to possibly buy. But so many homes were small and simple with plenty of room to shoot bee bee guns and throw rocks at friends, or dogs. :taz: Reminds me of a modern dupex apartment. Not sure if they had two family small homes years ago.

Although the steering column is in a different position in this photo, looking at the seats, I'm thinking its the same Ford wagon thats in the previous photo. And from what I can tell, it appears to be a two door wagon.

The Ford with the lamp pole on it? My first thought . Check again, that one is a two-door sedan. :naughty:

It's actually smaller yet when you realize that it's most likely a duplex. Note the 'driveway' going to the right and the two front doors.

We're beatin' that poor house to death...

my great-grandparents had a farmhouse that looked like that with the two doors. One led to the living room and the other to the bedroom. The kitchen was in the back. The bathroom was 'a little farther in back', if you get my drift...actually, they did add an attached bathrom with indoor plumbing to the house in the late '50's or do...
