Test, Thanks guys and BTW I tried to post the story here twice and it did not post it???? I`ll try again after I get a PM back from the wagonmaster/moderator; bardahl
The Squire Scoop Heres the scoop guys on this ultra fine 67 Squire, I had been looking for a 64,65 Falcon Squire or a 64 Fairlane Squire when I kinda stumbled across this 67 Squire up in the NW corner of Washington,I am the 3rd owner and the original owners had it for 41 years and took awesome care of it, it was purchased new in San Gabriel Ca. on 11/23/1966 (got the invoice), included in the purchase was 44 years of receipts of maintenance and repairs to the car,it is all original paint and shines very nearly like the day it was new I would assume (any spots on the pics are reflections or shadows w/the exception on the small spots mentioned on the doors ) it has only 3 places on it that have any rust at all, on each door on the bottom rear outer is a 1/2"- 3/4" spot (not through the paint and is fixed now) and the inside (only inside) of the bottom of the tailgate, that is it, it has PS,PDB,A/C, remote drivers side mirror, belt warning, deluxe convienence package, the upholstery is all original and has 1 slice on the drivers door panel that is 3/4" long, all the rest is very very nice, i am thinking the old girl needs some vintage (polished lip) torque Thrusts w/some nice thick rubber wrapped around`em to perk it up alittle we`ll see, thats the story and yes Bardahl is still made and used pretty extensively in Europe.
your old................................ mind ya...i still have the decals Bardahl I just bought a 66....so im feelin the luv
Squire Interior pics, Here are some interior pics of the squire, it has 1 tear in the lower rear area of the drivers door panel and that is it as far as damage, the outer tailgate window swipe was glued on by the origional owner at one time or another?? Brown spot moves around in pics, its inside the lense of my camera.
I'm really jealous, that car looks great, no one would think it has almost 200k on it. The original owner must have been a real car(wagon) nut. Did you post any engine pictures?
No engine pics yet, i will tomorrow it goes to the detail shop, the only real dirt is on the firewall and the deatil guy is doing it for 40.00 and said it`ll take 45 mins, the engine it pretty clean on it, it does need some degreasing under the front ent but no puddles in the shop under it thansk goodness.
I am sure I have not seen everyone's wagon on the forum, but on the 40 plus year old survivors (unrestored) yours might just be the closest to "mint". Thanks again for sharing.
Well just got the Squire back from the detail shop, 1st pic is before and then others are after??, don`t know if I got my 40.00 worth or not?, it was pretty clean before. I did have the inside of the hood repainted last week and it is very much better looking, it was just kinda gringy from 43 years of motoring.
As those old guys say "looks clean enough to eat off of." You got your $40 worth. Would cost you at least $20 for cleaners and rags. Plus you saved cuts, bruises, and dirty fingernails. As a side note, I have put tatters in foil on the manifold and cans of food. But never actually ate off any engine. ------However a REAL car guy never lets someone else clean his engine or much of any other part of his baby. You wouldn't take your wife or girlfriend to a total stranger for a bath, would you?
