Oh that '51 CS looks good (heck, they all look good..)
The CS looks like a beautiful DD - not perfect, just a well cared-for unit.

Wow, one's nicer than the next!! Guess the Country Squire's my favorite, but they're going for 6 figures for a really nice one. I can always dream.

Thanks for sharing. All three great looking wagons. I love the two-door wagons. Why did these things look so ugly when I was a kid?:slap:

Well now for the rest of the story......... Back in the day I also had a 51 Woodie at the same time I had the 50. Well the flat head engine bit the dust so me and my buddies went to the wreckers and aquired a 53 Merc flat head for this 51,well we managed to get in in the car but we couldn't get the transmission to bolt up to the block! Lacking about 1/2 inch.So along came this older guy,he said he would trade me a 39 Cad 4 door Lasale that ran and drove. So the deal was done.We drug the woodie to his house and drove the Cad home.Well about 1 hour later here he come's in the woodie running just fine. So here's the lesson I learned : THe merc engine had a stick behind it My 51 was a auto! You guessed by now right? I didn't know enough to remove the pilot bushing from the 53 merc so the torque converter would fit into the crank shaft>> Don't rembmber what I did with that 51 woodie, had alot of fun with the Cad anyway,I did trade it for a 60 Chevy convert, then traded 60 chevy for a 68 SS Chevelle. On & On it went when it stops who knows.Just thought I'd share....... Bob

YIkes Figmo, if you had parked all those cars somewhere, you could probably retire today by selling them all!

IF IF IF ! On the other hand, aren't these young guys lucky to have sites like this to learn all the tricks to keep old cars running. I also made a lot of mistakes when young and did some stupid things. We didn't have the internet or enough shade tree mechanics who gave out their secrets. If us old guys had a farm and big old barns, and a few dollars, 1000's of old cars would be saved today. IF!:rofl2:
