Shipped the 57 in for wiring today so pulled the 58 out for a face wash and to sweep out the shop. A real close inspection and I find that the primer scrubs off real easy and the original paint shows through. I'm wondering the best way to cut though it... soda blast?

My mind is all over the place dreaming on this one already.
    an Edmonds intake maybe...

Hord choise, they both look good on the 58.

But I really like your dogys and trim rings best to be honest. But I'm bias....I always got/get slammed for guning the bling wheels of my truck for doggies, and slammed again for hubcaps on my 83:rofl2:

50's cars should have wide whites.

I'm leaning towards the black. Whites go good with full wheel covers. Mags=black.

    Beautiful pictures in this thread!

Personally, I'd run wide whitewalls, with trim rings & baby moons on the original steel wheels (sort like your first pic).

    Awesome car :thumbs2:

When you look at the car with the black rims your eye goes to the car/chrome moulding. With the white walls the tires become the mean focus, the moulding second.

Personally on this car, I think the black walls show off the cars body lines better.:)

I love white wall tires. I also like black wall tires. I think it largely depends on the color, and the style of the car. They each look good in certain situations, and they can each look wrong in others.

With the old skool mags and whire walls with the current "paint job" it kind of has a 60's hot rod flair to it.

If it were my car (and I wish it were...) the way it sits right now I'd go with the mags with the white walls.

I like the way the car sits as it is... just polish up the caps and dress the tires! I think it really fits the car, with the blackwalls and correct caps. Although, if you went with a satin black paint, wide whites with red painted rims and the baby moons would look pretty good.

PS. Where is that old Esso station in Vernon? I'd love to bring a car up there and take a few pics in front!
