Greetings, I recently found and (thanks to help from Stephan!) registered. I am John from Marietta, GA and avid car nut. I currently have a 89 Buick LeSabre long roof and previously had a 86 Olds Custom Cruiser (300 ci) and 79 Buick Estate wagon (403 ci). I also have a 68 Buick GS 400 convertible and Dodge Ram crew pickup with Hemi. Originally from Ohio, I graduated from Ohio State University College of Engineering with Mechanical Engineering degree. A Navy ROTC commission let me live in San Diego, CA for five years during which time I drove a Sprint 6 packaged Pontiac LeMans 4 speed coupe. After that I joined UPS (Big Brown) where I served as a Plant Engineering manager for 33 years. The 68 GS 400 is nearly original - front discs make it stop and Flowmasters make it go! It is original Georgia car that I have driven on several Hot Rod Power Tours. Long hauled three time with it, including this year when we got to drive on Indy Speedway track and on GM Proving Grounds track! When we got back my grandson said he wnted to go next time. (He doesn't like wind of convertible though...) Bought the 89 wagon with idea of modifying it for HRPT. It ran rough and , with many portions of vinyl missing, when bought it was needing a lot of TLC. I have it running much better and intend to use this forum to find was to develop it's hidden capabilities.
to the wagon train, GS. Good intro and glad you showed up. Post up a few pix of those rigs when you have time.
Hi John, welcome to the group. Nice intro...when do we get to see the cars? Glad you found your way here...you'll like it here...
Pix of Car... I think I've attached picture of 68 Buick and 04 Dodge Ram. Need to take a 'before' picture of 89 Wagon! ;<) First picture is of Buick at Mid America on 2007 Hot Rod Power Tour Second is front view of 68 GS 400 - fairly original ft discs, 15" wheels, Rallye suspension, Turbo 400 bench seat, posi rear, A/C Georgia Car Third is of Dodge Ram 1500 AWD tow vehicle '89 is a No Carolina car with minimal rust but all rubber is shot! I will take a picture soon! I promise!
Here is quick shot of wagon. "Wood" is in pretty bad shape over back wheel opening. Of course, the 'endura' fillers are gone.
