I'm working at home doing mostly Mopar restorations and painted the first wagon since I opened up my shop. Due to my love of wagons this one was alot of fun. Here's some pictures. View attachment 7244 View attachment 7245 View attachment 7246 View attachment 7247 View attachment 7248
Very nice color..... almost cried when opening the first photo...thought the rear bumper was repainted in that same color. The front clip is masked/taped... will you do that later on (in another color)?
Those pictures were taken right out of the booth so I haden't unmasked anything yet. The bumpers are going to stay chrome.
Thanks! It actually looks much better in person than the pictures. It has ALOT of big flakes of metallic that really sparkle in the sun. The pictures just don't pick that up.
Looks very cool, sitting on some nice wheels too! I need to respray my car and am trying to decide colour, this one does look sharp.
It's basecoat/clearcoat. I haven't done a single stage metallic job in 20 years. For durability, depth, shine and metallic oreintation Basecoat/clearcoat is the only way to go.
That's seems to be what most everyone wants these days. Guess I am from the old school, as I use either single stage urethane or acrylic enamel. I painted a '70 challenger some years ago (Plum Crazy) with acrylic enamel and cleared it. I would put that job up against any type of paint.
