Australia only got the Slant Six in 225 form, before Chrysler Australia built it's famous Hemi Six. Back in the day they were unbeatable here with lots of locally made speed gear. I did one back in 2000 with electronic ignition from an American SL6 and home made electronic injection with locally made headers . Did it go? 125mph.... stock cam and head too.
They make Fords terrible old falcon six look pretty bad. ;)

    Your Wagon looks cool.
You'll be surprised what you can get out of the Slant-6 and you'll enjoy the nice Gas Mileage too !

I learned to drive on a 72 Dart, and it was eventually replaced by a 75 Dart. My Great Aunt had a 63 Valiant. A neighbour had an 80 Aspen, all 1 bbl. Holley carbs, but one of each of the 4 heads. The 72 ran nicest, but adjusting the valves every 6 months was a damned nuisance. Pulling out to pass on a two lane highway was hair raising. As for mileage, I get better mileage out of my 78 Thunderbird with a 351M! For that matter, another neighbour had a 78 Cordoba 318 that got better mileage than any of the 225s, and he could get out of his own way. Never another 225 for my. Give me a sweet 318 any day. Make it one out of a 90s Ram, with the overdrive and fuel injection. THAT would be sweet.
