I went to the Charlotte Auto Fair today at Lowe's Motor Speedway, I had a really good time. On the way home though on I-85 sothbound near Gastonia NC,I got stuck in a very severe thunderstorm with really large hail. Now the 85 Country Squire is pretty much dented all over. Gotta figure out what to do. What's important is I made it home safe, but it was sad to look across a pock-marked hood, the rest of the way home.

Hail damage is a pain to repair. Don't see it much here on the left coast.
    How's the roof?

It got the roof really good also, even the stainless trim on top of the window sills has dents in it. The car had some existing body damage when I bought it. The right side rocker panel and passenger door along with the rear quarter had damage which would have been $$$ to fix. The car now has too much body damage to restore. I guess if the tranny or engine fails I'll probably part it out. It'll make a good beater for a few years anyway. It's a shame because it only had 68K on it. The interior is still in very great shape though...and the a/c is cold.

That's a bummer man but there are ways to fix it. check on the web. i have seen hail and small dents repaired using dry ice, heat guns, propane torches, sucktion cups, plungers, as well as some spciel tools (long rods with the end shaped kinda like a narrow spoon). time and patence will prevail. good luck.

I've used a hair drier and a CO2 bottle ( key board cleaning bottles). You warm the dent with the hairdrier, making sure you get the whole dent warm but not hot enough to damage the paint.
Once you have it warm turn the CO bottle upside down so you get liquid CO 2 coming out and spray all over the warm dent. As it cools quickly the dent will shrink back to it's correct shape. i have see guys use Mapp guns too...:49:
It can take a while to get them all out but patience is the key. Set aside a day to do each panel but if you use this method you wont have to worry about repainting.

I took a couple of pics, but the car is white so it's difficult to see in a photo. The moulding on the winshield and on top of the windowsills on the doors do have some dents in them.

Sorry to hear about your car. That storm was most likely related to the tornados that touched down in Pulaski, VA, not really that far north of where you were at. It affected over 200 homes. Any where from some damage to houses completely gone. Was the worst one to hit that close to us, in the last two decades anyway.
