I am so happy to find this forum. I am the proud owner of a 1967 impala wagon. It has the original 327 that was rebuilt and bored .30 over. I used to have a 1977 chevy shortbed stepside truck that I loved, but I was forced to sell it when I had my first child. I was happy to replace the truck with the wagon and love it. I used to work in a shop prior to having my son, and love working on the wagon in my spare time. Right now, it needs: new weatherstripping, some electrical work, and some rust repair. mechanically, it is very sound. I just put new rims and tires on it and I am trying to locate a problem with the tailgate window not going up. Thank in advance for reading!
long roof fan! Glad you found your way here and are enjoying your VERY NICE Impala Now that you have started your family and you have a stationwagon all you need to complete that picture...is a dog now there's an idea. Maybe there be a link to the SPCA...you know to complete that wagon look...
Welcome aboard longrooffan.I can relate to your story.A year ago I sold my beloved '66 chevy pick-up to keep my struggling tire shop open and ultimately had to close it in November.Left a empty feeling knowing I was commited enough to my shop to part with my truck. It was a truck I used as a shop truck to haul loads of tires dailey and when I closed on Saturdays at noon I would wash it and go to the cruise in's in it.People would always comment on seeing it all over town rain or shine being used as a truck. My dad and I own a '55 Bel air together but it is nothing like the old shop truck. I found my '83 caprice wagon in January but it was at a car lot and they wasn't sure what they wanted to do with it because the motor was blown. Finally at the end of Febuary they called me and said they had been crushing the "junk" cars on the lot and it was marked to go to crusher next, if I would give them scrap price and come get it before 3 o'clock the next day I could buy it.Didn't think long, had truck and trailer there before they opened next morning.I didn't realize until my wife told me you got your replacement for your '66 truck. She couldn't be more right this is the most excited I have been about a project in a long time.I usually have older project's but there was just something about this wagon that got me and I'm still not sure what it is...
Yep, this photo needs a dog! And maybe a baby boy in it! Welcome longrooffan! Howdy from a fellow Texan! David

i wish i had a barn! i have a garage, it just won't fit. i mean, it will fit, but i wouldn't be able to open the doors! if i had a barn, i would be sooo happy. place to work on it, store my tools AND for my husband to do his woodworking.
