Well Fox, you're right about the fact that the tailights LOOKS like those fitted to some British cars. But this was a common shape in Europe in the 60's because French, British and Italian, they all used the services of italian designers like Michelotti.
Simca is not right at all, but it could lead you to the car maker you're looking for. Simca was linked to another car maker who was linked himself with the car maker to find (he supplied the engine for that tiny wagon)...

OK, Barto....Simca was a French Fiat and later was involved with Citroen & Peugeot. Later yet, with Chrysler.
I would have to guess that this car....from what you have just said....is a Peugeot or a Citroen. Although, it doesn't look like a Citroen.

Well Fox, Simca was linked with Fiat and Fiat was mostly involved in Italian businesses...
Forget about Citroen (whose small popular car was the 2 CV), and forget about Peugeot (which didn't make small cars at that time, I mean small in the European point of view)

Well....if the company went belly up in the 80's and they were never imported here....I may have never heard of the company or the car. In looking at the car it's difficult to even determine the year or the country of origin. As I stated earlier....it is a generic looking car. Although, the other models you showed have some character to them....I still don't have a clue. I give up on this one.:D

I found one (same model, convertible version, estimated price from 20 to 30.000 $ !!!) was auctioned in the US in 2010. And 3 cars of the same make (but other model) are believed to exist in the US... Not completely unknown as you see :D

OK, Fox, I got in to the site this way. Thanks again. I love this stuff. Especially on rainy windy days when it is easy to justify staying in the den and playing on the computer.

Just joking with you, Barto. I'm joking 90% of the time. It IS a tough car to guess, though. Maybe if we had a year and country of origin it would help. No sense in stringing it out for days. Someone may eventually get it but....when? Or....if? Need more clues.:D
    And, no...I don't particularly prefer one offs.:D

My guess is a Singer. They didn't go out of business in the 80's tho... much earlier.
