How can it be 7F in Chicago? Wierd. I'm over in west central Wisconsin and it's still 13F below zero!
could be the lake effect,I'm pretty close to the lake.haven't looked to see what the outlying temps are. radio was reporting that people were surfing yesterday with 20 ft waves in some areas. In dry suits, but still...
Probably practicing for the New Year's Polar Bear Swim. Your voice gains a few octaves while you're recovering.
It was a balmy 21 degrees here today...so I went and road for a while...surprisingly no one was there
Just had a real storm blow through. Knocked down a dead tree last night, and today we had some hail and high winds. Roof repair guys went and sat in their truck... Went on one of out local TV channel's web site - had a picture of a TORNADO up near Salem.....ripped off a few roofs. Showed this picture:
Thats nasty Krash Last nite the wind and rain went nuts here. @ 6AM when I left the wind was gone but man it was a damp cold, snow/slush rain. Couple hours after I got to work it stopped raing (for a moment) and the water on my car turned to ice but then it started pouring again, and then more rain/slush snow and it went like that all day but man it was cold.
One of my neighbors rides his bike to work every day, even in -40 weather, snowfall or not. The guy looks like the abominable snowman when he rides back past my house. 8 miles each way. Just thinking about it makes me wince.
That just reminded me. There is a guy in this town that NEVER wears a coat all winter. Not only that...he just wears short sleeved T-shirts! I kid you not. And...he will stand outside and talk to you as long as you want in below zero weather! I have yet to see a goose bump on his arms. Just saw him the other day again. He was walking into a store with his T-shirt on and it was around zero degrees. He does NOT own a coat! I can't even comprehend that????
