Hello Everybody! I am new to the group and have a couple of questions about my next project car. I am a life long Chevy man and I have never owned a Ford or a Station Wagon so this is a new adventure for me. I recently aquired a 1970 Ford Country Squire Wagon. The wagon is in great shape and only has 61,000 original miles on it. I'm thinking about a partial restore or a ratrod project. My question is, where can i find parts for the thing!!!!! A couple things that I am looking for is Dash Pad, carpet set, driver side wing vent workings and the parts to fix the rear gate latches. And my next question is: Does any parts (interior) work on the LTD wagon from the Galaxie or Fairlane? I noticed that a 1970 Galaxie dash looks just like the dash in my wagon. (i figured restoration parts would be easier to find for a Galaxie vs an LTD) Any Help would be greatly appreciated!!! Dustin
Welcome aboard Dustin! The site links directory is chockfull of parts sources, for dashpads and interior stuff: http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/local_links.php?catid=5 Exterior parts like trim and chrome are probably for those fun-trips to the junkyards, but there are some NOS (New Old Stock) vendors listed in there too. If you run up against really wierd bits, just start up a Project Thread in the Cosmetic... section and the Parts Wanted section, and somebody will dig in to point you to some optional sources. Glad you signed up. Now how about some pics? We always need a pixel fix - its a visual hobby, warts or not.
Hi, widebody. You might want to post the pix in the "Welcome Wagon" section along with a little about yourself and your wagon. It will probably get more exposure and more Ford guys can jump in to help you out. You could move the text in your post here to that section, too, if you want. We always like to see people join up so we can welcome them and learn about them and their cars. There are many here that can steer you in the right direction for parts for your wagon.
