Hi all, I just joined up here after SilverFox told me about it. I am a Subaru guy but appreciate and respect everyone else's work just as much. I think I'll enjoy my stay here. Alright enough jibber jabber, time for pictures! After all whats a thread without pictures...? My '92 Subaru Loyale 3AT 4WD. "Safariwagon" 116,000 miles. 2" SJR Lift 14" Peugeot 505 Wheels (4x140) 26" BFG tires (Soon to be 27" Maxxis Bighorns) Other bits of random offroad goodness and retro-fits. My '95 Subaru Legacy Outback 4EAT AWD "Trashwagon10" 210,000 miles. Lifted with Outback KYBs and Forester Springs. Retro-fitted A lot of stuff from other Subarus or Aftermarket. Cheers, -Tom
WOW, Tom! Those are BOTH really cool wagons....you have a certain knack with those subies. And...to the wagon train, loy!
those have got to be the badest a$$ Subaru wagons I've ever seen!!! no granola, Birkenstock sandals or Starbucks for you huh?
Thank you all for the awesome welcome, Glad to be a member here! I have a passon for Subarus, from their Simplicity to work on, to their Capability. The '92 Loyale was my first car, I bought it in July 2006 when I was 15 and have had it since. I just got the Legacy in March of this year. Again thanks for the Welcome, if anyone has questions about anything, feel free to ask! Wagons-Ho! -Tom
Glad to have you here, Tom. Not that many Subies around here. I love Subies and, as you and other's here know, I am looking for the right old gen one as I type. I will say it again...you have a great eye for the Subies, too. You have done wonders to the look of both of those wagons.
Welcome Tom! Love the 'Off-Road' wagon look. Won't be doing that to my HHR, but I did think about doing that to my Focus wagon. Thought better of it because it's kind of a all-show, no-go with a front-wheel drive wagon.... Lots (and I mean LOTS) of Subarus in this area. Worth doing a road trip if you're ever in the market again. Not as much swiss cheeze metal on the left coast. Marshall
You are sure right about that, KK. I would love to get my hands on a good high desert subie! But, hey, you guys just got a lot of snow in that area....and cold weather! Guess I won't be doing any road trip before next Spring. I would love to do that.....take my burb out there and travel around looking at the old subies for sale that I like. Then pull a cherry back home. BUT....we are talking 2000 miles PLUS just to get there. One way. Then, I would have to do a lot of miles to get to the cars all over WA & OR that are for sale. It would cost me a fortune for a trip like that in the burb! So....here I am KNOWING that the PNW is FULL of nice subies in the vintage that I like and want, but, no way of getting one. I know of some people out there that would do an inspection for me but I am particular, as most here know, and find it almost impossible to buy a car sight unseen. So here I sit. Knowing where the cars are but can't get to them and can't ship without seeing them first. I want a subie but am frustrated by being fenced in.
Once you get to know more people on USMB, you'll find out who you can really trust. I know I trust a lot of folks on there, no one is gonna screw you if they are well known members. So you could always check out the For Sale section on USMB and see whats out there. Shipping will cost about $800 and up. My buddy Jon out in Waterford imported a '87 Turbowagon from North Carolina, which was rust free, sun beated, but no rust at all and was pretty much mechanically sound as far as EA82 Turbos go.
, you must be a good guy if the Fox likes you Awesome wagons but I had to chose the first one, dam I like that. I could have had alot fun with that one the past couple days here (snow and ice). I've allways had a soft spot for Subies, but have never come across one that I could aford or was worthy. Enjoy the nut house.
Thank you all! I can say I know my way around a Subaru, if you've worked on one, you can work on them all. If anyone has an questions, feel free to ask! -Tom
