Well, after pulling it out of storage a few weeks ago, getting the 5 year collector plates for it, and then fixing some minor issus (steering, shocks), I'm going to be using the Sportwagon as my car for the airport, and to the office. I spent the weekend mounting an Alpine under the dash so I didn't drill any holes in anything, and placed a few speakers in the back in boxes so I'd have some tunes (the airports about an hour away). I spend a lot of time in different parts of the US, so I am at the airport weekly, and since driving the Sportwagon always puts a smile on my face, I figured what the hell, I'd just clean her up and drive her. With the power, it loves the interstate (and the gas, but oh well). Being that this is Colorado, and I don't think it would be too much fun in the snow, I am going to keep an eye on the weather with winter approaching. So if any of you are in Colorado, and you see an old grey Sportwago crusing on I25, give me a honk or a wave! Bill
ya gotta enjoy it right?? Im actually thinking about putting my 69 back on the road as a daily...winter and all
Mine spent all last winter up on blocks without an engine. Gotta get some new boots for her this year. I put new studded Firestone tires on the Chevy last year, but the Fairmont needs snow tires. Any suggestions?
Drive it with pride especially when passing a new car on the back of a flatbed. Gas is only expensive when you worry about it.
