When did Pontiac Honeycomb wheels become so sought after?

I've always thought these were pretty decent looking wheels on a Pontiac, but this is crazy. I must be out of touch. For my money I'd rather have the Pontiac mag wheels anyway.

I thought they were cool on the Firebird Trans Am, Looking at how this guy has them carelessly stored though, I'd have to have detailed pictures of each individual wheel before I spent the money.

 

Hmmm... never much liked them myself. I prefer the Rally II.

You can ask any $$$ amount you want.....doesn't mean their worth it.
Now if he had NOS trim rings, NOS center caps & perfectly restored rims it would be a different story.
