Do any of you own a 58 Pontiac Safari like me? I'd love to hear from you.

:Welcome: I think there's two or three 57 Safari's. Not sure of a 58. Maybe your first! I looked in the garage but I can't see the picture. Stored for a long time probably preserved it pretty well.:thumbs2:

Welcome Dave! That pic in the Gallery, didn't make it to the garage pic. One fine looking wagon. Like TBird said, there's some 57s and at least one 65.:Welcome:

Thank's for the welcome. I added a couple of pix's of the 58 to the garage I hope. It does look nice in a picture (I call it a 50 footer) but hey it's not bad for 52 yrs old.

    Car looks great.

    Welcome to the forum.

It does remind me of my '58 Nomad.

Nice wagon, Dave. Looks like it's well on the way toward being 'new' again.
Back around 1965 or '66, I was out with my dad on his job (milkman) when we came upon this beautiful '58 Safari - I think it was a Custom Safari - seemed to have a lot of chrome, white / silver 2-tone, IIRC, and a 'For Sale' sign for a few hundred dollars. I begged and pleaded, but since I wasn't quite 16 yet, it was a no-go........BTW, this car was up near Beverly Hills, so you know it was taken care of........

Have you seen the pics and story of the 'Bonnewood'....?
    (Google it if you haven't)

    Welcome SafariDave. Nice wagon.

Yep, there's a few of us '57's here, and at least one '58 if I remember correctly, green with wood - beauty car to say the least. There are a few around my area, two that are driven regularly, and they are very neat cars.

    Glad you found the forum.

Nice Poncho wagon, SafariDave and welcome. Your long roof looks pretty near being done. What was it like when you got it?
