442 Wagon

I am sorry to read this, still hoping you find another way.

Just my 2 bits of nothing...I'm kinda in the same boat. I have cars up for sale and sold a couple recently. You sure there is'nt any car/truck to sell before the wagon?

 

I thought about the wife, but last time I did that it was quite expensive...

They say that 22% of men kiss their wife goodbye when they leave the house, but 97% of men kiss their house goodbye when they leave their wife... With those statistics, I'm afraid the car is a better option...:confused:

 

Any wonder why they call them house keepers?

 

Very Sad.... That is a one of a kind car, I'd hate to have to make that call.....

Ebay it (and set a high reserve), That car is so cool it will have to bring good money.
Man, a 455 4-spd or and LS engine swap and it would be a major player!

 

Well, it's official - I'm keeping her... I'm gonna be very poor, and won't be doing anything with her for a while (including the indoor storage I had planned for the winter probably), but at least I'll have the car.

I've been so stressed about doing this, and I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off me - even if I do have $$ woes...

Thanks Russ - I'm pretty happy too... Maybe there's still hope that it will see a 455 someday... (FAR in the future mind you...)

 

Just be carefull when out side storing. I don't know how your winter climate is in Vermont but out here I've seen many a mint car get ruined, molded inside from improper storage. People throw a box of absorb all in the car, wrap it up in a tarp and forget about it till spring thinking thats all it needs. Then there a stunned dear in the head lites when they see the car

If I keep em in my drive way uncovered, always keep running them, every sunny day opening all the windows etc. It's alot of work out here with the damp and the rain.

 

Agreed... I did this with a VW I had a few years back, and it was OK. The biggest issue is being careful with the snowblower because of the layout of my driveway. I'll run it periodically - I just won't drive it in the salt... I have a really good quality cover for it, and will keep it cleared off and remove it to dry it out periodically...

 

455, LS1, LQ whatever..... Start doing the research and watch for used cheap parts, that's me technique!
All my cars sit outside, but we have very mild winters here in Washington (wet but mild), and we don't really use salt. I'd use a quailty cover and keep a couple of "Dry-Z-Air" doolihickies inside, then uncover it and dry it out whenever you can.

 

442 where are you?

I tried to find your post about some door trim parts for your wagon. Fat Tedy mentioned that you needed them for yours. I thought he was fixing his, but its a Buick wagon, so I'm still on his trail.

I got 4 nice ones from a 1982 Cutlass Cruiser. Probably the right color. Didn't cost me a red cent, so let me know if they are the right ones and where to mail them?
