Ya know, looking at the condition of the interior, it may very well be under 20,000 miles. Looks very Grand Prix like. I always liked the optional terry-cloth like interior on these. It saddened me to see one in our local U-pull about 3 years ago with the nice interior I like, but it was a less optioned model with just AC and tilt and no console.
Yeah, he says he put $10 K into it after purchase, and I'm betting he paid $5K originally, hence the $15K price tag. Doesn't anyone understand that you are hard-pressed to get out of a car what you put into it? If he gets it, great. But I won't hold my breath.
Agreed. I always have to laugh at EBay, you see these tinkle yellow chop top ‘55 Chevys with lovely white and purple tuck and roll interior, with the purple ‘82 S-10 dashboard, and the guy says over $100,000 invested. Well I could buy a one million dollar house. Take a wrecking ball to it, leave the ruble, guess what. That doesn’t make it worth $2 million.
That’s a great point Bill. I always forget these cars, cause you really don’t see that many of them, but you have to wonder with these and the really jazzed up Malibu Classics did some of these GM lines kinda crowd themselves in that “personal luxury coupe” space? How many more Monte Carlos or GP’s would have been booked on the ledger without in-brand competition?

I guess if you have a nice 77 Grand Lemans on either coast you have to overprice it. Compare this example at Nappoli in CT Higher option but plainer colors & no vinyl top asking $18000. It is more original and has the Aluminum Snowflake wheels. But vinyl seats, and does not have the sport steering wheel. I agree, both cars are probably worth $8,000-10,000 at the high end. The Napoli is well know in the Pontiac world for having very nice cars, but overpricing them to the extreme. They were a Pontiac dealer for decades, and when they closed the division they had around 10 new Solstice coupe's out of the around 1300 ever made. Those cars had sticker prices of between $30,000 to $38,000 new. They hung on to them for 5 plus years, advertising them for $55,000 - $60,000 depending on options. I do not know if they sold them for anything like the asking prices or not. I know a couple of people who have visited the showroom, and they say the cars are all in fantastic condition, and priced the same way.
