      This is not a hearse, it is a Service Car... There is a difference... Service Cars carried everything necessary for the funeral service, such as the tent, chairs, etc., and could also be used to carry the deceased from the place of death to the funeral home. They were rarely used for the transportation of the casketed remains to the final place of rest. That was the purpose of the hearse. Note that hearses almost always have windows for viewing the casket, and Service Cars did not. Today, most Service Cars are mini vans.
