I drove up to this yard that wanted to check out for PDL Actuator switches for my Fairmont. He's got nice stuff in there. When I get more time and warmer weather, I'll take the camera for a tour.

Look at his Custom Pickup. My tongue hung out when I drove up. I asked if I could take pics and he apologized that it was dirty. I told him it looked like it cost a few LOOONG ones to do that, and he said, that the bank lets him hang onto the title. I believe him. Even the paint is shaded and gradient and full of sparklies.(y)

Here's the link. This guy is a 'comfortable' car fox. 6 employees, and they aren't junking anything. All working on custom resto parts for shipping.

So the custom stuff is really factory? The paint job wasn't, and that interior is bling city! I honestly thought it was a custom unit. Never saw one before.

The truck is factory. Called an SSR. Now don't quote me on this but the first year they came with a 5.3 V8 and then switched to a 6.0.

Yeah, they are factory Norm, I know 2 people who own one, both still have some regrets....

Roof up or down both owners complain of "flex" while driving. Both say it's worse when the roof is closed because then you hear all the noise from the roof, roof ruber.

Heres a pic of Chris's, Great guy, learned alot from him and his guys back when it was a tiny modest shop.....learned how to play beer can hockey, learned how to high speed crash a mountain bike while holding a 24 pac of beer AND not hit a customers car, and the best....I learned that when your (me) on a public road in a iligal go cart (built by Chris) and Police car turns a blind corner and you almost get into a head on collition...............

That was a Long, Long time ago, we've all grown up since. Good memories, good guy/s. When I've needed pro work done over the years for family mostly the cars go to him with out question:yup:

Well. Have I been sheltered or what! Your friend does nice work, by the looks of the maintenance on the vehicle.

I saw it again today. I'm impressed that GM broke all their business rules to make a Heinz 57 styling soup look really unique and rodder looking. The owner did some other stuff to it, to get it to his liking, but I was too busy to ask for details.

One of our city councilmen has a PT Cruizer woody with smoothies and wide white wall tires. It's kind of errr...fugly.

Saw SSR's fairly regularly down in Southern California. DINK's (Disposable Income, No Kids) seemed to buy them - at around $40k new. The market for them tanked almost as soon as they got a few months old when the owners found out they were noisy, you couldn't tow anything with them, and they slurped up the gas at a prodigious rate (Duh.......). Then you could pick up a slightly used one for about $25k........

If you wanted real performance, I thought this was a far better deal..the Chevy Trailblazer SS, with the 6.0 V8, for less money.....
