he can have all of theose he wants if you ask me!!! hell, ill help him if it saves at least 1 wagon from doom.

these walking pieces of waste are a different breed. i will be the first to admit that im a redneck....well actually a beach bum (which is similar...ill explain later), but!!! these guys think that no one wants wagons and no one ever will!!
some of them are actually a$$holes about it!!! i have heard of guys going to buy a clean wagon and a derby guy showing up, cash in hand while the first guy was still looking at the car.
it seems as if some of them have a personal vendetta agains our beloved longroofs!!! it makes me sick!

Yeah, I've got that vibe from a few of the DD guys posts who have been here......

It's lile they take great joy in destroying a car that somebody wanted to restore. "I can't have a nice car, so I'll ruin your chances of having a nice car, too..."

If anyone is in any yards I would appreciate it if you would also keep an eye out for the molding that I need for my 1962 Chevrolet Station Wagon ambulance. I posted a picture of the part today in the wanted forum. I also hope that someone can put eyes on the car that Dana is looking for. Thanks Junk...

If it gives you any comfort I think it unlikely that you, an enthusiast, would be outbid by someone intending to demolish it.
A friendly call or note to Copart might be forwarded to the successful bidder. If it's a dealer you might arrange financing.

Or just wanted to tweak the seller. $4k is lot to just wreck it, especially with WAY cheaper cars available. You never know though.

Who sings that song "If I had a Million Dollars"?

If I did, I'd tear this house down and build a 100% Passive energy house on the same lot, and buy the one next door, and up in this poor neighbourhood, that would be unforgiveable. Its a great house, small and efficient, but I hate paying inflationary energy bills more than I like the house. So, yeah, you're right - you never know the other guy's motives.

well dana, as luck would have it... i was talking to a couple of professional car owners today at the big cruise in moon park. and not only are they farmiliar with the car... they know the previous owner!!!! they said the damage that the car suffered happened when the roof of the building that the car was housed in collapsed under the weight of the snow from the blizzard that got us this past winter. so he auctioned it off via copart.
they said if you call him he will probably know where it went and how to get a hold of the new owner. his name is john ehmer ill PM you his phone number!!!:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

    Ian,
Actually yes, you are correct!! I am also a PCS member (Lifetime) and have known John many years, he is a VERY nice guy!! But seriously Thank You VERY much for thinking of me and trying to help me track down info!!! I can't tell you how much that means!!!

See here is MY sad part of this story that I have left out:
I have known John has had this car for a number of years. I have always been interested in it but never got the chance to see it in person. A while after Johns disaster (he had several VERY nice cars in his collection in a 2 story old business type garage building, the ones on the second floor suffered the most damage when the roof collapsed!!) John called me. He asked my permission to give the insurance agent who was working on settling for some of the cars my telephone number thinking that since I DO have TWO of these cars and am a bit familiar with the hobby that the agent (who turned out to be very familiar with some very nice cars but NOT professional cars!!) may be able to get some useful information from me as to the possible value of this particular car.The agent DID call me, I do hope by talking to him that I did help out in some way, although I don't think he really paid much attention to what "I" thought the predamage value was!!
Knowing that I have always been interested in the car John also let me know that it "might" be possible to buy back the car from the insurance company for possibly $500-$1,000. John really wanted to see the car go to someone who WANTED it. This was several months ago and unfortunately it was a VERY hard decision for me!! I WANTED the car with out ANY doubt!!!! However, my previous employer had my unemployment STOPPED a few months earlier!!! and I had not yet found a driving job (still looking, working at WalMart at least to HAVE a job!!). I VERY reluctantly had to eventually decide I just could NOT buy the car at this time. MAJOR bummers!! Well, timing is everything!!! I FINALLY had my unemployment hearing and WON!! I received back payment, 6 months worth!! After paying my debts I had a small amount left over, I called John, and found out the insurance comapny had picked up the car just a few days earlier!! Car had already gone to CoPart. I waited for the auction, was unable to bid myself so I called CW Coach in Ohio, Carl, (another very nice guy!!) WAS going to be bidding on the car anyways, I let him know I was interested and told him what I could afford to pay. Well, the car easily went over what I could afford, and also ended up going for more than Carls top bid (I do NOT know his top bid nor what the car sold for).
So, here I am. A car enthusiast who is just WILD over these particular cars just because "I LIKE THEM"!!! and I just missed out on owning my third one that even with roof damage was still in better shape than the two I have!!! (according to the Superior book only 36 were built) I would have had it fixed, I would have driven it and I would have ENJOYED it!! But still all the same, maybe I might be able to buy it in the future when I have a good job again IF it is still around!! still worried it will be derbied or stripped of drivetrain and crushed.
So, again folks, thank you SO much for giving me some understanding about this and keeping you eyes and ears open for me, I really do appreciate it greatly!!!
