Hello all, my name is Michael and I am the proud owner of a 1971 Plymouth Satellite Custom wagon. I originally learned how to drive on a 71 Plymouth regent wagon when I was 14 years old. My family had the wagon from 1974 to 1981. We had to sell the wagon for financial reasons. I loved the car. It has taken a long time to find one just like it. What is amazing is that after 35 years I had to learn how to drive this wagon all over again. My families wagon was the 318 engine with auto transmission and power steeering. This wagon I just purchased is all original with the build sheet from the factory, no power steering, 3 speed manual on the column and has the 225 slant 6 engine. There is nothing like your first love, a woman or a car. When I got the car and sat in it I fell in love all over again. Shes a beauty and I am not letting this one go. I will go homeless before i sell this car haha.
Sounds like a really neat wagon. I guess the original owners liked their things basic and fundamental: "A 6cylinder's fine. The V-8 will just use more gas." "We don't need power steering. It'll keep us in shape without". "Power windows, don't be ridiculous." I'm sure it's got the little dog dish hub caps and no radio, I bet. Am I right?
You'll have to connect with Foxflyer40 - he just got a '72 - same car... BTW... Let's see your beauty...
Hi, Actually it has AM radio with one front in dash speaker. The rims were replaced with 17' craigers. I did get 5 "dog dish " hub caps when I decide to go original rims for the wagon. It also has roll up windows and does have air conditioning. Even all the windows except for the windshield are original. Every time I just look at it I cant help but smile from ear to ear.
