    the TENT TOP that Fod produced in the late 50's was actually built
    Really Sturdy,,,it attached to the rain gutter and supported itself by the inside of the gutters....which is where Ford said was the 'strongest structural point'(y)

    HEY Stormin....(this is gonna drive you nutz)..(or nuttier):biglaugh:
    ....But why not build a DOUBLE DECKER????.....:scratchchin:

    Before I carry on hijacking my own thread again. I was thinking that I'd build the back end shorter than the typical wagon and spread the rear weight more equitably with the front end suspension. Keeping it shorter back there would make it easier to park a trailer, load more directly over the rear suspension, and give me some additional flexiblity in design.

    If you make the rear shorter wouldn't that make it look more like a crossover vehicle?

    I was looking at the 1960 Studebaker Lark here in the Gallery:

    It's pretty short on both ends and it looks ok.

    Not yet, but the 1956 Chrysler wagon length looks about right.
