Ok, I just joined up over here. I've had full size wagons for years. I've had a few mid-late 80's Caprice wagons, a 1974 Chevy Caprice, with big 454 and th400 and possi. Another 1974 Chevy Caprice with 400 4 bolt main small block, and th400, with possi.
A few years went by after they were gone and I got a hold of an 84 Olds Custom Cruiser, of which I fell in love with. After it got hit and totaled, by the town's plow truck parked in front of the house. I purchased an 88 Olds Custom Cruiser. Years went by and I got bored with the stock driveline and dropped a 540/750 horse Merlin Chevy big block, Lenco 5 speed with possi 9" Ford rear, roll bar, mini-tubs, and Mickey Thompsons. The car runs a consistent 9.80's in the quarter to this day.

    Since originally having a huge interest in G.M vehicles, I eventually lost interest almost completely for a few years. As a result, the past 7 years of my life have been ruled by my foreign and American Exotics. They currently consist of;

    1; 1982 Mercedes 280CE Euro Coupe.

    1; 1989 Lamborghini Countach QV5000 (25th Anniversary edition),

    1; 2008 Mercedes CL65 AMG Coupe.

9; 79-86 Mercedes 300CD Coupes of various conditions, both Euro, and U.S. spec. cars.

1; Very rare and very mean Mercedes 560 SEC,AMG, Renntech, Euro with 6.0 litre V-8, Etc.

1; 1981 Mercedes 300CD Coupe, with 480 hp/ Fuel injected, 383 Stroker Chevy, T-56 Six speed stick and Dana 60 Possi rear.

1; Very rare 87 Ford F-150, Bigfoot Cruiser Edition Pick-Up truck.

1; 1988 Chevy Wrecker W/454, 4-Speed, and Locker rear. Century twin line Hydraulic winches, 3 stage boom, and Hydraulic wheel lift.

1; 1970 Yenko Deuce Chevy Nova; Small block, 370 hp(under-rated as they all were) M-22 4 Speed, and 4:11.1 Possie rear. All original, right down to the exhaust shocks and tires, with less than 10k on the clock. Car has been featured in tons of Magazines over the years.

1; 1969 Yenko Nova; Big Block 427 M-22 and Possi rear. Only 14k on the clock and just as original as the 70 small block car. With the exception of tires, brakes, and one rear shock was changed one month into the car's life (for some reason) also been in tons of Magazines through the years.

1; 1988 OLDS, Custom Cruiser wagon, with 540ci/750h.p. Merlin Big Block, Lenco trans., Ford 9" Possi.

1; 1983 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser Station Wagon...Diesel car, Brand New g.m 350 Diesel engine and brand new trans. with valve body/shift kit, and higher stall speed torque converter, Flowmaster dual 2.25" exhausts, Just to give the car some more pep, and the exhaust just makes it sound and breathe better.

This car has 409,000 miles on it and is in impecable condition for a car it's age with those miles. I got it cheap, from a dealer friend of mine who took it on trade after an old couple was snaked out of the car, and into a new one by his salesman, while the car was in the shop getting most of this work done to it at the same dealership.

I got the car with the new engine and trans, and a bunch of other new things done to it. Once I got her, I put the Flowmaster dual exhaust on her, and put in new shocks all around (Coil-Overs in the rear), the heaviest duty springs available on all four corners, tires, and Air bag inserts for the rear springs for load capacity.

Today, I am driving her daily, because I like her a lot and she needs to stretch her legs once in a while. Since I have so damn many vehicles, I never get to stay in any certain one, for any prolonged period of time. Just way to many vehicles for one person to drive. Anyways...That's my cars. Learn about me as we go along.

Yes, I'm shooting for the 1 million mile marker on "Dreadnaught" as I like to call her. She's almost half way there, as you said. I don't think any of these diesel wagons that I've ever seen or heard about have ever reached anything near that marker however, so I don't know how likely it actually is. I am trying just the same.

As for the other vehicles in my collection...Lets just say "Money has never been a problem" for me. I have invested hundreds of thousands of dollars over the years in my collection and I'm constantly adding to it, and or improving something on a vehicle. I do lots of my own work, but I know my own limitations also. Currently I have three of my Mercedes in a body shop, getting full restorations. Many of them are Euro cars, and I've been importing cars from all over the world for myself and some others for a while now. It is not what I do for a living, just a hobby, and an extra source of money.

I like your fairlane, I was looking at pics of it last night, in admiration of it's condition. I see you take much pride in it, and thanks for welcoming me in here.

I never even knew this forum even existed, 'til last night when I googled "Woodgrain". There are a few small spots/blemishes in my paint, and woodgrain on the Diesel wagon. I'm looking to either get a hold of some factory exact stuff, have some made, whatever I need to do. I just want the car to look new again. It all depends on me getting a hold of this stuff. I could just have the paint re-done and call it a day, but I'd rather just get it over with, and do it right the first time.

I'm also on a mission to find another 74 Chevy Caprice, loaded, woodgrain, roofrack, black Vinyl interior. Drivetrain does not matter very much because that's the easy part, and I could make what I want out of it. I'm pretty flexible about the details, even the year, as long as I can get a 74 nose, and the parts to make a 73, or 75 or something, look like a 74 with the correct fascia, and tail lights, marker lights, and interior. They were basically all the same, from 71-75 except for these details.

I miss my two 74 Caprices', and I wish I still had one, or both of them today.

    Nick

The woodgrain links in my posts to Avery's OEM car lines really are close, but if that fails try the 3M DiNoc links. I'm thinking of building a new real woodie from scratch as my next project. Have a look in here:

As everybody pesters me, put up some pics, when you get the project(s) rolling! ;) :hide:

Sure, As long as you all don't mind looking at a non station wagon, or an exotic car every so often. I like to share all of my projects, and cars. I have some pics of my 88 Olds Custom Cruiser, doing wheel stands both on the street and at the track. I also have some other pics stowed away in my computer, and still in my camera of many of my vehicles. Here's a few pics of some of my vehicles, that I have immediate access to the pics.

The dog..Well, She's more like my "Dog-Ter" so to speak. She's my pride and joy and the single most meaningful thing in my life, dispite what you might think. Her name is "Josie Leigh" and she will make a random appearance in a lot of shots. In fact, many of my shots are originally of her, but whichever vehicle is in the background gets the free photo out of it. The truck is my 88 Chevy wrecker. The little grey Mercedes, is one of my 79 300CDs', and the underhood shot (Before it had been detailed and cleaned)is the aformentioned 560 SEC, AMG, RENNTECH, EURO, Which is a very rare car anywhere, and is not exactly supposed to be here in the states, on US streets, or any of that...I got it here, but I give away no more details beyond that, so as not to incriminate myself....LOL.

Nice rides. Always liked German engineering. When I was at a tradeshow (International CeBit computer software show in Hamburgh in 1994) I was SHOCKED at how many Mercedes were around! It was proportionate to how many Chevies you saw on any street in Canada! In contrast, when I went to New York, in downtown Manhattan, back in the early 1980's, I was shocked when I saw so many Mercedes 2-doors all smashed up! It seems that everyone else used them for target practice! Smashed, creashed and trashed!

The pickup/towtruck looks a its got a custom-built set of tool-bins on the sides. You take competitive racing seriously. Nice rig.

Now, as for Josie-Leigh, she's a 'ham'. She'd thaw the heart of the Abominable Snowman! Cute! She do telepathy? I need about a 12C degree warmup, so I can finish mine this year! :christmas: :biglaugh:

Welcome to Station Wagons Forum. :Welcome:

I currently have a 86 Chevy Estate Wagon which is in decent shape with a Olds 307. I'm looking to change that in the future. I just can't decide which engine I want. Great looking Autos you have. Any of your wagon?

Nick, the Rev kristened us and we work hard to keep up the reputation! We need a third (The Three Mouse-K-Tiers, well two, for now. ;) ) and I think the Rev not-so-secretly wishes he could, but he trumps us with his wit, every now and then.:bouncy: :rofl2:
