62 Valiant wagon on Craigslist

    62 Valiant Wagon...One owner, 56,200 miles showing
    225 slant 6 with push button automatic. Whats left of paint appeares to be origonal
    99% complete, origonal spare, all glass is origonal and good except windshield
    Radio delete, power steering and brakes
    New battery, plugs, wires, points, dist. cap
    Origonal interior is intact and in good condition, worn but not shreaded
    Reasonably straight and very little rust...easy restoration
    Won't take alot to get driveable

    Thats an oldie I hope gets into the rite hands, I'd bet fresh gas and that slant six would drive just fine....there is a reason they stopped making that motor.....they last!

    That's a stylish little sweetie. I like that a lot. The paint job you could do on that.

    I would do a dull coat, it just would'nt look rite shiny

    It's one of the few styles that lends itself to a nice 3-tone combination. No idea what colours, but it could be awesome.

    I guess you could do light patina, medium patina and dark patina. ;)

    as crazy as it sounds, I'd just splash on some Thompsons water seal. I have a new respect for that suff:yup:

    I'd love one of these little wagons....
    You know you could get these in a "9-passenger"? Rear-facing 3rd seat was available.

    I'd be real torn though on how to do it - original or 'fixed-up'. Love the Exner styling on these.

    How would you ever get 9 people in Valiant?!!! Oh, I know, tell them you're chasing the Family Truckster to DisneyLand! :yahoo:

    Some of the best styling came from Exner's team. They had a sense of proportion and practicality. My dad had all 5 of us kids climb into the trunk of the 1958 Imperial once with thick foam for a drive-in, and we had lots of room for the popcorn and cokes. :cheers:
