I am trying bud, I really am, but its real damn hard, just sitting here waiting for Judgement Day. Need to be given a seconds thought to be able to listen. I feel like we are all coming in second place to something else right now and I can't stand how my mind is wondering as to what that thing might be.

A nice dinner conference with the guy might be in order so everything is understood by both sides.

you go to carlisle....they have open drags on one night of that weekend...
i'll put tiki head to head with ya!

btw the TBI cars had 3:23 rears.
that is why your running 2000 @ 75-80
    i run between 1500 and 1700 rpm.

fox, if you really want that caprice wagon to get nasty try this...........scoob8000's 95 caprice has 3:73 with a tru-trac posi. apart from a pcm tuning and cold air induction...its stock. with the gas part way down and no brakes it will smolder the rear end! he gets 19mpg highway but his city isn't much lower.

3.32's huh, thats cool. If they had the 2.93's I was gonna swap them out for 3.23's. Now I might have to step up to 3.73's instead. Thanks for the info Ian.

As for taking the white bomber to Carlisle, sh*t, I would be the laughing stock of the show with that old bone. I will be taking the 92, but it does not run as good as the 93, but is in far better shape. But if you decide to do some traveling up this way or if I am heading down your way, we need to hook up anyway. I have no problems in a little street racing on the highway as long as there is nobody around. I plan to run it for atleast one pass at the old Lowville Drag Raceway, now known as Lucky Drag City in Wattsburg, PA some Sunday this summer. I have been thinking about even keeping it, gutting it and making a low budget bracket racer. Does not need to be fast, just consistent.

A1...3.73's are a little too low for me. Not a good highway gear. I've heard others say that the 3.42's are fine and you hardly can tell a difference from the 2.93's. But the 3.42's aren't as feisty as the 3.73's. Scoob may also have a higher stall torque converter. Pops you into the power band off the line. I have always wondered about those tru trac's. If they are the one I'm thinking of they are a little different than most posi's.

here is the option code section for differentials from the 93 gm service manual.
open your gate and read the "G" codes on the sticker. see what you got.

i put a pic of my wagons codes for reference.
i have gotten up to 19.8, but installed new plugs (ac R45TS)/wires(AC Delco)/cap(Stamdard)/rotor(Standard)/oil (mobil 1)/filter(AC454)/air filter(fram) sunday. looking forward to seeing if ther is an increase in MPG.

i am currently 3.23 posi and 225/75/15 tires ... i have new tires to put on and they are 235/75/15. i hope they will correct my speedo which reads 63 when you are going 60.

make sure tires have lots of air if you want to spin instead of go!!

BTW ... if you change rear end ratios on a 91-93 RMW you need to have the correct "matching" anti-lock brake box so the ABS dont think you are skidding all the time.
you will also need the correct ECM chip so the speedo will read correcly. the chip cant be from a 305cu.in. car and put in a 350cu.in. car and visa-versa.:slap:
also...the rear end housing from a sedan wont fit a wagon.

i invite anyone to drive their 2.72 posi or 2.93 posi geared 92-93 RMW to my house and swap for my 3.23 posi, and chips and ABS box. taking off like a rocket is fun but i want a road gear.:tiphat:

Great info on the codes Yuk. I checked earlier today and both of mine are GU5 - G80 - G67's which are 3.23's posi with air leveling. SCORE!

Yeah....I'm very familiar with the technology, Blackie. I just want to talk to someone that uses one for street strip rather than off road. I know thay are nice for a DD but am wondering if they lock up...heard they didn't.
