... then I think too, I could take that $1150 and put it toward getting my 72 Chevy running and a good start on the body work and paint??? That said, I still love the 73 Country Squires and one day would love to have one and do not want to see this one get crushed. Hopefully someone here will save it.

Oh, here is the link! I forgot to post it! :slap:

Tony, that CL ad doesn't sound like he is on the verge of crushing this wagon. He says it runs good, seems to realize that it is a nice vehicle. He says he wants it to go to someone that will appreciate it.

I think this wagon will survive. I sure hope it will.

Maybe we are falling for an old panic sale tactic, buy it or else.

    David :)

I know. I should have mentioned the ad dont say this, but his reply email to me did. I had emailed him initially about the wagon for more pics and info. He said he would email me more pics. He replied the next day with this....

"After doing a lot more tinkering with the car I have determined it has bad rings. I will be crushing it the beginning of next week. I appreciate your interest. Mike".

Thats what I was going by. The ad is still up though, so I dont know. I replied and told him he could probably still sell it. I hope someone can save it. I dont know. Can you tell I am trying to talk myself out of it.

The ad was posted on the 20th and I think I emailed on the 21st for the first time. I am not sure how many inquiries he has had. Maybe someone else can email and ask him about it... maybe someone can make an offer and get a better deal that I could.

You have a nice wagon, 72King. Spend your money on what you have.

This beauty definitely looks like it's worth saving, even if it does have bad rings. I'm not a huge fan of that powder blue, (wish it was white), and it's not a huge amount of money. My 87 Colony Park fits in my garage with about 14" left over; clearly this '73 wouldn't fit. Plus, it's too far away. I don't think it'll be crushed; it's in too decent a shape.

The new spin in wagon sales is to tell the buyer it's going to be crushed. People know that buyers interested in wagons are passionate about them. All a seller need to is lurk here to find that out.

Thanks '82. I really love it. I'm only the 2nd owner. It's all original so up close, it has a few dings, but it's in really good shape without a hint of rust anywhere. I need a right front wheel lip molding and the little molding that goes from the front of the left wheel well to the bumper insert. They're both scraped and I didn't damage either one of them. A few years back, I lent it to my nephew who, I guess, never drove anything that big and misjudged it putting it back in my garage.
The stupid Mercury emblem that goes on the tailgate keeps falling off, so I've got it in my glove box. I tried reinstalling it twice but it keeps coming off. Thankfully, I still have it and one of these days, I'll figure out how to put it back on correctly.

To those that were interested... its gone.

He sent an email and said it was gone and to relay to those interested.

I asked him what happened and he said.... "I crushed it. Shipping rate on a transporter is about 70 cents a mile. But it might take a month to move it. My buddy quoted 750 on his rollback. There will be others. Its at the local pick a part. So its not completely gone. Mike".

I am assuming since its at the junk yard, he said crushed it, but its still there apparently.... so it anyone is in Atlanta, search the local pick-a-part" and it may be there. I wonder how much they gave him.... surely not $850?

Oh well, I dont have to worry about it now I dont guess. I can focus on my 72 now. ;)

I had found a transport quote for $300, but not sure how reputable they were.

In light of the original pix of this wagon.....I'm not so sure it hasn't been in the junk yard all the while.
