Hi, my name is Tim Suddard and I am the publisher of Grassroots Motorsports and Classic Motorsports magazines. While I don't currently have a wagon, I am actively looking for a late fifties or early sixties wagon. I would like a solid, honest car that I can use now and perfect later. Coming from a Ford background, I am leaning towards a 1960 Ford or Edsel of the same period but have looked at everything from 56 Dodges to a 63 Chrysler. I am hoping to find a nine passenger wagon and am going to sell or trade my 63 Ranchero when I find one. if anyone has any leads, please let me know.
to the wagon train, Tim! Hey...look around here in the different sections for wagons found and posted by our members. Especially in this section... Station Wagon Auctions, Craigs List and Other Station Wagon Classifieds . Now that you have voiced your rather wide preference we will keep an eye out.
Allow me to be the second to roll out the . This link still works: http://www.oldstationwagonsforsale.com/
Tim do you have websites for the publications? both sound vaguely familiar....would love to see it! as for the wagons....I have a 58 Edsel Bermuda and a pile of Falcon wagons....so....excelllent choices!! lets see the Ranchero before its gone
Welcome. I've found the Station Wagon Forums group to be very welcoming and supportive of each others acquisitions, restoration and customizing/modification efforts. I think you will enjoy the wide variety of wagons that are on the Forums and the interesting conversations that play out in various threads. Very impresive and a great place to ask questions and get a wide range of advice. Take care, Barry
translation:...they are all a bit loopy...half the time dont know what they are talking about.. ..fun place to visit....wouldnt wanna live there sorry Barry...couldnt resist
Welcome aboard. A friend of mine and his black 68 Barracuda just appeared in your December issue. We'll do our best to help you find the wagon you're looking for. There were less than 300 of the 1960 Edsel wagons built. A 58 or 59 Edsel wagon would be much more attainable. Heres a 60 Ford wagon project in Texas on Craigslist. http://lubbock.craigslist.org/cto/1521883831.html 1960 Ford Ranch Wagon 4-Door Project For Sale. Price is $2500 without the motor. Im keeping the motor and have already pulled it from the car. The car is mostly disassembled due to starting a restoration/mild custom build and the parts are in the car. Call anytime for more info or to arrange to see the car in person.Aron at (936)525-8548 For a Mopar wagon on the east coast, one you might consider is the $4500.00, 1964 Dodge 880 Hardtop wagon in New Jersey. Picture it with the front end lowered an inch or two, and a set of Torque Thrust II's and a couple surf boards on the roof. http://southjersey.craigslist.org/ctd/1512881704.html
Yeah, cuda...I looked hard at that white 880 wagon myself. They weren't real responsive to my questions or I may have ended up with it.
This 64 Dodge wagon in Michigan is a 9 passenger wagon. http://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/cto/1525457484.html
This 63 Country Squire is in Tennesee, but it doesn't say if its a 6 passenger or a 9 passenger wagon http://westky.craigslist.org/cto/1488564293.html
Rev his publication caters to people like me that tend to make their vehicles for the tight and twisties. Maybe we can start a hot new trend of cool wagons that can corner on rails. BTW welcome to the forum Tim.
Thanks for all the help. I will check out the wagon leads you guys gave me and get a picture or two of the Ranchero posted. That 60 is cool, but too much of a project for me right now. I need this next purchase to be at least daily driver quality, as I have a lot of other restoration projects to finish right now. I didn't post our websites before, as I was trying to keep this non-commercial, but they are www.GrassrootsMotorsports.com and www.ClassicMotorsports.net and both offer a lot of content and a free issue offer for those who want to see what we do.
