I'd fire the guy who posted this ad. 1. It's apparently a 'wagon' 2. Absolutely NO information on which engine it has (MIGHT be VIN decodable...?) 3. No trunk or engine compartment pics 4. NO mention of what other equipment it has. Looks like an aftermarket A/C unit. What about PS and PB?
I wouldn't buy this because the company is more concerned about describing legal boilerplate than describing the car itself.
It doesn't list what engine it has, but you can see pics of the engine compartment (as well as other pics) here: https://vmp.ebay.com/ebay/viewAllPhotos.aspx?smid=57762824 The engine would be VIN decondable, as well as decodable from the fender tag, but the pics show it's a V8 and with this model it will be a 318. The 360 was not offered in 4-door models. But yeah, there's no excuse for not having any real description for this car. With that said, while I'm not a fan of the colour of the vinyl top on this one, the interior looks exceptionally clean and I like the colour and seat pattern too. Overall, both the interior and the rest of the car look very well preserved. I like this one and even at the Buy It Now price of $9,999 I think that is a more than fair deal for this car. Normally I'd agree, but to me this looks like a good and honest car that just happens to be in the hands of people who are only interested in quickly flipping it to move onto the next car. If I were in the market for one of these I would be more than willing to take the chance on this one. It looks right to me and I don't see any real red flags. I like this car.
Point taken. Having read that, I would have to have a full-on inspection done, by a shop of my choosing. And, I just had a thought, but it died of loneliness: are the Sixties/Seventies printed vinyls still available? If so, it might be worth redoing the top, if you do a repaint, and find some that complements the seat fabric if you can.
To be honest, I don't know, as I'm usually not the biggest fan of vinyl tops on most (but not all) cars, so that's one thing I'm not really up on. But I do know that any vinyl top colour, texture or print that these cars came with from the factory is reproduced, so finding anything you want shouldn't be an issue. I'm not sure if that top is original or not, but if it is I'd leave it the way it is for originality's sake. I just like this car because it's a nice, clean representation of what everyday transportation was for a lot of people back then. I wouldn't want to change a thing. I just can't get over that interior though. Other than one hole in the vinyl near the bottom of the driver's seat and a couple of other very small blemishes, that interior looks fantastic. Even the dash pad is immaculate and I like how deep and rich the green is. I'm liking this car the more I look at it.
One thing I spotted was the discoloration in the carpet, driver's floor. Right behind the plastic scuff pad. Otherwise, very immaculate, and I agree, the shade of green is quite eye-catching.
I noticed that too, but I think a bit of a shampooing might help take some of that out and may even restore a bit of the colour as well. But yeah, that interior colour...love it.
Thankfully, I don't see much wear in that area. Must've been owned by an old lady that was so lightweight, she was 85 pounds soaking wet.
