1986 Dodge Omni Shelby GLHS for sale on BaT Auctions - ending May 2 (Lot #72,194) | Bring a Trailer another one
Have a feeling this one isn’t going to get anywhere near what the one owned by the Shelby trust brought, but we will see. You’re right, and I’ve set it before. Really good examples bring big money and the not so good ones follow. Kinda like Penguins jumping off the ice.
I swear, there are just too many people in the hobby just to make a dollar. Inflating prices over time and ruining it for everyone else. Especially for younger generations who can't even get their foot in the door to keep interest in these (or older) cars going. Greed is a horrible thing. Getting pretty sick and tired of it to be honest.
Thanks Mark. Does $17 k still seem decent for these? I would have been really surprised if this had bid to $17,000 no sale.
looking at BAT auctions since 2019 for Omni GLH-S or GLH-T they have sold for $8800 to $27000 not counting the recent Shelby Trust one for $33,000. this was 3rd one in the $17,000 range.
And... the 2 door Charger version Original-Owner 1987 Dodge Shelby Charger GLH-S for sale on BaT Auctions - ending May 11 (Lot #72,989) | Bring a Trailer
I forgot about the Shelby installed 95-135mph Sticker applied to the mandated 85mph Speedo on those. I always though it was odd the tuner could get away with it but not the manufacturer? They could really give a 5.0 mustang or a Z-28 or T/A a run for there money back in the day. They could outrun the automatic versions of the Pony Cars with no problem.
