The BAT ad title says it’s a ‘72, but the text says it’s a ‘71. No matter. I love this CS. Anyone care to guess the selling/top bid price? I’m guessing $25k. Not obvious to me if this is 143k miles or 43k miles. Illinois winters + road salt = much more rust than this car shows. Unless from southern IL.

It’s a ‘72. Really lovely. Love the squire brougham optioned interior.

One of the best looking and preserved 50 year old wagons I have seen in a long, long, time, especially the interior. Went thru all the photos and find it hard to believe this car has been used 143k miles. There is some rust thru on the exhaust and for some reason the shift lever looks like it just came out of a junkyard.

Think the remote mirror knob is also missing, but man agree annap01gt this is a remarkable wagon. Would not be surprised if rusted exhaust was original. I’m following this one. Loved ‘72’s.

It’s funny looking at this Vin it indicates the car was built in Mawah, NJ, but they built big Fords at Chicago. You would have thought a southern Illinois car would have been built in Chicago. All the big LTD convertibles were built in Louisville, but Chicago, Twin Cities both built wagons. Just a nerdy observation.

The add says the selling dealer got it in Illinois…car had a long life before he got it in 2021…could have originated on the east coast…

True. I had read Illinois and since it’s in Grand Rapids just assumed they plucked it out of Illinois.

It's hard to tell from the pictures, but the pedals don't quite look like they've had 143k of wear. Neither does the rest of the interior, and the driver's seat isn't collapsed on the exit side of the seat cushion either. I'm not a Ford guy, so I can't really say what price it'll go for, but $25k seems reasonable. But given the picture of the undercarriage, there really isn't much surface rust under there, which is encouraging. Unless it's a "fluff and buff" car made to look better than it is, but I'm not quite getting those vibes. Hard to say from pictures though.

Bidding at $12k, with 3 days left to go. No doubt there will be last-minute sniping.

I think there are a lot of folks laying in the weeds. Maybe Black Friday will help.

Thanks JSafe17. I’m pretty happy with it. We grew up with these. This is like old home week. Think it will be very happy in New Mexico.
