Hi Everyone, I am new here and have my 1st station wagon. 1967 Ford Fairlane Wagon I just finnished a 66 Mustang for my wife and now it is my turn. I wanted to do something different from everyone else and thought about a wagon. when I found this one i knew it was right one form me. I found this car in Salina Kansas and want to give special thanks to the previous owner and my new friend,Shawn Jennings. Looking forward to learning from members here as I
i am working on getting some pics . as for my plans, I am going to drive it and work on the mechanical items first. When winter hits here I want to start interior work. I am learning there will be many item I will have to fabricate as there are not as many repops out there as there are for other cars.
Yeah most wagon specific parts are rarer than hens teeth! That's why I found a parts car (but I haven't the heart to dismantle it!).....Longroofs Rule!
Oh oh. I smell a resto project in the making. We’ll know if you’re living in it in a month Mrs Wagoninsane wasn’t on board. Lol
I could swear i saw those roof windows for sale on ebay a week or so ago! not sure if they were exactly your year or model but you might check...
Old Glory and Ol” Red :Love that Pic Put some more meat on the back. He looks a lot better. Noe onto the next step-Fuel gauge not working.
Fuel gauge was not working but after doing some research I found the problem to be the sending unit. I removed it from the tank and with some cleaning I was able to get it to work again.( saved me trying to find one) Now I need to find a new float, filter sock and rubber gasket and put it back together. The tank inside looks great but the sending unit needed cleaned and the contacts brushed so it was getting a good contact again. Good day of wrenching!
ive seen the filter sock, and float, and they come with a new lock ring and square cut O ring on ebay as a sending unit rebuild kit for my 68 mercury montego, so check there....P.S. LOVE you car! love the wheels and how it sits!
