That's so fantastic! It's great to see the the Thing, next to the other Things, but that smile on your daughter's face is priceless.
I took Morgan to her 3rd car show today. It was the Picayune, Mississippi Street Fair Car Show. She even got a sponsor's pick award.
We have been having some really bad weather here, started raining on Wednesday and didn't stop until the morning hours today. Same last week but good thing is all the Saturday car shows have been moved to Sunday which is usually my only day off. I get one Saturday a month off so I miss alot of car gatherings but have been able to go with Morgan last 2 weeks to show off her VeeDub Thing! She went to a local fundraiser for a high school band. Had 58 cars show up and she ended up with a Most Unique plaque and also got a 2nd place. We know it's not a "Show" car and she doesn't go for awards but it is nice for her to get one with her pride and joy every once in awhile.
Nice to see you and your daugter get out to events when you can. Some of my best times were when our son in Florida took his El Camino and we parked together. We never went to win. Winning was driving to and from events and looking at other vehicles. I bragged about our warm Illinois weather. It's winter today with ground covering snow! My daughter sent bikini photos of her and their friends at a Key West beach today ! At least it's taco Tuesday for me.
My daughter got to take her VW to Cruisin the Coast a year and a week after purchasing it. We cruised the Mississippi Gulf Coast, met up for a VW breakfast run with 35 other VW enthusiasts. They had 9,496 cars register this year and we seen 5 other Things. A photographer took a couple nice pictures of it at the VW run. We had a great time hanging out for the week.
That's so cool tireman. I'm sure your daughter was proud to have her car there. I'm sure you are proud of your daughter.
I didn't notice before, but that's cool she got license plates with '181' on them, a very 'VW Thing' for her to do!
Yes, the previous owner took it off when she bought it because it was given to him by a friend but by the time we left with it, he was excited to hear about Morgan's plans for it, he decided he wanted her to have it. He told her the plate stood for Pretty Sweet 181!
