Saw this the other day while out in the neighborhood with my son driving RC cars.

I thought I knew classic cars, but for the life of me I can't figure this one out... Looks WAY rusty, likely not even a candidate to save. (I definitely wouldn't try it)

Could it just be a base Newport wagon?

I think the hood is off of a Jeep Wagoneer.

Could be, but my guess would be some kind of full-sized Mercury or Lincoln from the 70's.....

I present, for your consideration, the Jeep Wagoneer:

Obviously these photos focus more on the grill than the hood itself, but they sufficiently display the proper hood arch.

The hood is off a '74 / '78 full size Chrysler..

Agree Krash. Think the hood is 73-78 Mercury. Would say big Ford, but I can’t tell if the hood has a center crease. Can’t tell so I would say big Merc of that era. Or a big Chrysler. Def a mid ‘70’s barge.

The hood arch is similar, but take a look at the sides. All the Wagoneer hoods wrap around to the sides and sit on top of the fender edge. The white hood on the Chrysler meets up with the side of the fender in a more typical fashion.
