Ah, so the badge is on the grille; I'd swear I saw one with the badges on the fenders, in the same place the 390 badges were mounted.

 

Horizontal badge on the front part of the fender DOES say '7 liter', as I recall.....

Interesting story behind Jay's 7-Liter, which is sort of a recreation of one his dad bought new in '66. Jay talked his dad into getting the 7-liter over a 'plain' Galaxie 500 or LTD. His dad was apparently quite overwhelmed with the power of the car, and soon traded it in on something more sedate.

 

Jay said, he wrapped it around a tree, before the trade-in could happen. Then again, Jay says a lot of things

 

See, I thought they were there, I drove next to one years ago, and I was prepared to swear that I saw the badge on the fender.
