Well after leaving my house at 3AM arriving in Ft. Myers 360 miles away at 8:20 AM, having breakfast with the sellers of the wagon and loading and leaving at 9:30 I made it back home at 3:30PM after a brief stop to have lunch with a friend. Here's a couple pics I have from the trip home. I will take more when I get back to work on Tuesday where I left the car yesterday. Its pretty stripped. No power windows or locks, no tilt wheel, and no luggage racks. Oh well, less weight=faster. I'm going to pull the head and turbo from my Shadow and install it on my fresh short block to go in the Aries.
Thanks. Its not as rust free as he had described it or I'd had hoped, but theres no perforation that I've found thus far.
Cappy, you have to cross 'Alligator Alley' don't you? Been across that stretch when they were sunning themselves back in the early '70's. Good start for your Steroid plans. Looks great.
No, I live on the NE side of the state and the cae was in the SW side. I crossed through the mouse trap on I-4 and continued south.
Close. I'm using a 2.5 .030 with a ported head, 2 piece intake from an 87 Daytona, Super 60 turbo, +20 injectors, 3 bar MAP sensor and for now a rad/IC combo from a Daytona.:2_thumbs_up_-_anima
That'll work! I had an '84 Turbo Daytona in Germany, and two Shelby Chargers here - all of them were giant POS cars. They don't like me. I feel the same about them. I had the Chargers on the Turbo Dodge and Turbo Mopar forums for nearly a year, trying to sell them. Ended up parting one of the Chargers and took it to the crusher. The other one is a stillborn project up the road from me. Scrapped two complete sets of the aluminum pizza wheels, too, at the aluminum salvage. Nobody wanted them. All I have left are factory service manuals for the '82 and '85 FWD Mopars. Sell 'em to ya cheap!
I lived in South Florida for many years and used to have to go from the east coast to the west coast many times. They about killed off the gator in the 70's and 80's but with protection they are everywhere there again. Back on subject, I love those K car turbo wagons.
thats gonna be a blast....to bad it wasnt a woodie !! that would be the ultimiate insult to a 5 litre to get your a-- handed to you by Grannys wood wagon
i loved that drive! used to take cars from ford of pompano to the big dealer in ft meyers across the alley. if you have the cajones to drive try your luck on the FHP camaro being there! or worse yet ....the miccosukee reserve police! i remember the first time i made the drive.. i kept seeing these dragon flies that where the size of birds! One of the guys from the dealership hit an alligator with his brand new nissan 350z one morning. but, he hit it on the sawgrass expressway not the alley
