Thank you guys for all the links and kind words.

When that man told me, its mine free and clear, I sware I could hear a record scratch in the back round. I mean this is stuff you hear in urban legends and tall tails, this is stuff that really dose not happen in real life. I guess I was wrong on that one.

I have been reading up on the giant, seems to a have a loyal and strong following for both the wagons and four doors. I have always had a special place in my heart for the Roadmaster wagons. I still remember clear as day trying to talk my dad into a Roadmaster wagon, him looking at me like I lost my mind, and smiling. Then the salesman brought us into his office and he looked at me, "I have something for you young man". He opens up his desk and pulls out a box with a Buick symbol on the end and a picture on top of a Regal. It was a 1/24th scale model car of the Regal. 21 years later I still have it on my dresser.

Its amazing what products, songs, smells, capture a moment in time that you remember for the rest of your natural born life. And mine was a 2.5 ton giant called the Roadmaster.

Seems to me that you heard the "Sound Of Music" in Quad.

What's really great about this, is that you appreciate their gesture and the RMW. Looks good on ya, too. (y)

 thats great on the freebie. hope its good to you. My freebie had 250k miles on it, and im putting a new engine in it, but its a car ive wanted since i was 13, the owner told me the same thing " cant think of anyone better to have it, so its yours" (89 Colony Park, will add pics later)

I too have a very special place in my heart for the Roadmasters though, i love that bulbous bodystyle, the way they drive and handle, and the power. but seeing them takes me back to 1992 in 8th grade, wishing i was grown and could buy one new..... and being upset with my mom for not even looking at them when she bought her 92 lesabre and telling me i was odd for liking them, and i just giggled.

now, after being in the work force for 11 years i long for my 8th grade days when i didnt have to do a damn thing but dream!

I just so excited on getting this wagon. I have been on a few forums on the "B-body" GM cars, seen a few youtube vids on mods people have done, just what I have read and seen, just makes me even more excited. (y)

Overall it seems to be a long lived car, yet to be truly discovered by the general public (that is fine by me). Other than the "opti" ignition system being a bit of a pain, overall it seems to be easy to work with. Remember, I'm a Volvo tech by trade, Volvo built the blower motor AROUND the 240 series.

Thanks again Blackfoot, HandyAndy, and a1awind for the info on the Roadmaster. I'm gona need all the help I can get, to keep this gentle giant well preserved.

Now I just have to figure a nick name for my new wagon......

How can you say your 92 has all that get up and go. Mine wont get out of its own way. Im thinking it cant breath with the exhaust on it. Im thinking of yanking the converter and resonator and going turbos to the back but am afraid I will get called for emmissions test in Chicago

    any advise

I think it was the way the car was broken in and run before I got it. My 93 with the same motor does not seem to have as much nut as the 92 and the 92 has 27K more miles on it even. I did a few small things to help it run a little better.

Pulled the air intake tube off so only the square breather box is left on the motor. WOW does it talk like a old Q-Jet now.

Took the cat off and hollowed it out completely. Then slid it back on. Hey its still there isn't it? lol.

Next things I will be doing

Pulling the 2.5 inch pipes out from under it and going fill 3 inch from the Y collector to the tail in single exhaust, no resonator and a flow master or some other sort of free flowing muffler. This will help it breathe, get better milage and sound bad ass.

Pulling the injectors off the TBI and using 2 gaskets. This will require a small amount of dremel work so the injectors will not hit the venturi sleeves. It will raise the injectors a full 1/2 inch higher and allowing better fuel/air mixture. We did this on my older brothers pickup and it was like installing a 50hp rates JET chip in the PCM. It will not effect the mileage in a negative way, infact he gained a little over 2mpg.

Does your 92 have the actory installed tow package with reese hitch? If it does not, you will also have a higher gear ratio, thus not having as much take off power or a posi rear axle. Mine is equipped with 3.23:1 gears.

Tell me more about the intake tube as I'm lost on that one. I already have the turbos with 2 1/2 in and out sitting in the garage and I just ordered a 3.73 (no tow package). Im kinda gun shy in removing the OE exhaust in case I get called in for emissions test. Injectors?? sounds scary! I think Id like to have someone tweak the computer?? What else do you suggest? Keep it coming Im all ears

    thanks:2_thumbs_up_-_anima[IMG]

    jamie, blackfoot,

go on the impala ss forum and email scoob8000. he has a tbi car that he took off the square box air cleaner and replaced it with a chrome edelbrock performance disc aircleaner. gave him some power (well, kinda its an lo3) and has that old school look. it either fit perfectly or required very little triming....
