IMG_2240.JPG IMG_2239.JPG Saw this yesterday in the car corral at Daytona Speedway, something tells me it's still for sale, you are reading that correctly, sixty nine thousand. Seems like the seller doesn't really want to sell it or has watched too many auctions on tv

Agreed. People are crazy. And please don’t respond that you just bought this car, and the remarks are insensitive. $70k is ridiculous.

Naughty naughty! When was the last time you saw one of these for sale? And in this condition? There just may be the one person out there that has to have this 394 Rocket powered cruiser.

I completely agree with you that it is rare and the condition makes it even rarer but rarity isn't the only factor in determining value. The seller can ask any amount that they want for what is probably the nicest one on the planet, it just seems that asking prices have been unrealistically rising since the TV auctions started getting popular. And I believe it had a 350 engine in it but I saw a lot of cars there so I could be mistaken.

Great picture. I think the smoke he's been around might be from something much stronger than cigarettes...!

In his case, it probably wasn't even smoke. If that wagon does actually have a crate engine, it's more likely that the seller just came back from visiting a certain new Toronto celebrity

Who ever said television wasn't good for the ecomomy?

I always liked that they served alcohol at the Barrett Jackson auctions. Who amoung us haven't had a few with our buds just before negotiating for a new car or house. Helps the decision making.

Don't forget the pretty girls they have there "pumping up" the bids and telling Big Daddy how great they would look in that red Vette. Auctions are all about hype, naturally, or artificially induced. I have to say I've been there when the bidding gets heated, and yours is the last hand up. Lots of emotions
