Thanks for the hospitality and for allowing me to be a part of this forum. I grew up facing the wrong way in the back of a 1973 Mercury Colony Park. I learned to drive in that car, took my drivers test in it and drove it to high school.
I have always loved station wagons and after restoring my 95 F150 I bought the car I wanted since it was new. 1996 Buick Roadmaster Wagon with wood grain, collectors edition. Love that car.
My Buick is in amazing shape. I found it in Hemmings, after a year of searching, from the original owners son. 59000 miles. I moved my 2019 Cadillac out of the garage to make room for the Buick.
Again thank you for having me

Welcome aboard, TonyU! Post pics when you can, we all LOVE pics of wagons. Sounds like a very successful search you performed to get the car you wanted.

    Hmmm.......
There's a possibility Tony that your low-mile RMW is known here by a member or two. Post up a bit of the unit's history that you know of, and we'd ALL like a few pics .

    Welcome to the forum!

Hey Tony. Pretty Buick. Is that another oldie next to it in the garage? At the risk of starting a $h|+ fight, you did not sit the wrong way in the Colony Park. Ford’s forward seat, pre ‘65 and the DRFS subsequent to that seemed logical. I couldn’t ride backwards for a prolonged period of time. I totally get the egress thing as far as ease in and out. Fine for some, I always had to see what was coming, and not going. I love them all!

Yes. It’s a 1995 F150 that I restored with a lot of help from the folks at LMC Parts Corp. You are correct. In the colony park you sit facing the side. And I do love them all too. An older gentleman once told me that we don’t own them we only take care of them until the next generation. I sure hope when I die my boys appreciate these cars.

Welcome aboard TonyU. Sounds like a pretty nice wagon you have there. I'm looking forward to seeing the photos.

    Welcome
I recently sold my 85 Colony Park and am on the hunt for a Roadmaster with under 100,000 miles that isn't priced as new.

Orthmann, great minds must run in the same channel. Not to talk about Mak in a third party way, but I thought there was a boat or something like that in his future. This is a most pleasant surprise. I thought the same thing when he wrote about the Buick. It’s always great to have Mak on line, and especially since he may be foster dad to another wagon!

Everyone, a boat is still on the plans!! The price of the boat and the annual upkeep I was prepared for, but it was a huge eye opener on the true cost of cruising for extended periods that slowed the rush down a tad. Another wagon? If the right Roadmaster or late Electra pops up, it would be hard to resist. But it would have to become my daily driver as I won't let it sit. As much as I spent getting the Colony Park back mechanically, I
would not have driven as a daily driver without more work. Brakes upgraded, Suspension totally redone, seats recovered, tail gate rehung, and more and I just wasn't willing to invest that amount of $ into it. So I either drove it 20 miles a week or it just sat in my driveway.
