New (old) Chevy Caprice Eatate Wagon from VA

Hi all,

Been wanting to buy a wagon for over 3 years and finally made the plunge about a month ago! My criteria was it had to be at least as old as me, have a third row, and be in drivable condition. I found what I was looking for in my 1983 Chevy Caprice Estate Wagon. I wanted it to enjoy and haul the family around in to car shows and vacations. I’ve never really worked on cars so this is all new to me. I have worked on and have built motorcycles over the years but cars are a new venture. Looking forward to reading and learning on this site and maybe even doing some meet ups! I presently have an exhaust leak and some rust issues along with a leak on the passenger side firewall. I have to get those figured out but I’ve been driving her and love her! Thumbs ups and “I remember when” stories everywhere we go!

Yes they do. My wife and I have 4 and one on the way so the wagon is the obvious choice to enjoy the classic cool but also get the whole family involved

Ha yeah we have the 8 passenger so we’re full up! No more kiddos for us we want that front bench all to ourselves haha

I got excited when I read the title of your intro because I thought it said you were from WA...
Then I saw your license plate and re-read the title and saw that it was VA.

Although I just sold my 85 Colony Park, (very sad) (wife thrilled) Am located in Harrisonburg, but get to northern VA all the time. Daughter lives just outside of Aldie VA.

 

Car looks good! Welcome! I too am a motorcycle person. Got the wagon for the family as well. I refused to buy a minivan. What’s leaking you say? Is it coolant?
