Saw this in the October 3 issue of Old Cars Weekly. They occasionally do stories on still-operating junkyards around the country, and I always like all the photos of the cars mouldering in the weeds. This one has a '64 Safari wagon that looks restorable, if anyone was inclined. The vehicle is at Lyon's Vintage Junkyard, 2605 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, Kentucky 40037 (270) 865-2212 Looking at Google maps, Loretto is about an hour south of Louisville, and this address is definitely in the middle of nowhere.
3 hours 52 minutes from me... and I have access to both an open car trailer and an enclosed trailer for parts... Dang you Jaunty, I just got back from a road trip.
Saving any Pontiac or any wagon is a good deed. Saving a Pontiac wagon is truly worth good karma for all your days.
My best friend is a Pontiac guy. He always gets perturbed when I refer to his as a "Poncho" I just laugh and say "don't blame me! I didn't come up with the nickname!" He's a good natured guy, and he knows the things that get me going as well, so I don't mind ribbing him from time to time.
Right, but that's what male friends are supposed to do--it's the *ahem* 'mature' version of the Pecking Order.
