I don't think a 350 is a "big block," but people just love to throw that term around. Very nice car. Four-doors may hurt sales prospects somewhat.
I agree a 350 Buick is definitely a small block Buick, nice example of a unloved model. The price is now reasonable for the mileage & condition. Nice old family cruiser.
It was a 231 V6 or this 350 V8 for these in '76. Wonder if Theo might have had a special optioned 455 in his NYPD car to haul him and his lollipops around?
Are we sure the Buick 455 was not still available for a Regal in 76? I know 76 was the last year a big block Buick was available, not a Buick Expert so not sure on this
I'm going by Rockauto who lists a 455 for the 73/74 model yrs then 350 as the largest engine, save for the 403 for one yr in '77. A Kojak fan site(what????) says that Theo's '74 Century had a 455 badge on the fender. The show lasted until '78 so did he drive the '74 all the way to '78?
Hey, don't look at me - ol' Theo used to call him fatso to his face. To his face! Kinda crappy when you think that Stavros was his brother in real life.
First, just to be exact, the Regal, for 1976 at least, was actually a submodel of the Century line and was, in the literature at least, called the Century Regal. There was also the Century (available as a coupe or sedan), Century Special (available only as a coupe), and Century Custom (available as coupe, sedan, and 2- and 3-seat wagons). According to the '76 Buick brochure, the available engines in the Century line, which included the Regal, were a 231 cubic inch V-6 and 2 and 4-bbl versions of the 350. No mention of a 455. The last year that the 455 was available in the Century/Regal was 1974.
Bear in mind, that's from GM of Canada. According to that, though, only the full-sized cars had a 455 option.
