Looks like a good show with lots of variety. It also looks like you had great weather.

What's so "negative" about poking fun at some of those entries? If nobody wants fun, then they should stop using humorous titles for such events. I really don't think that they're taking it all as serious as you are. They're just out to have a good time, as the rest of us are

Hey, I finally made it to YouTube!
Well, mostly my car did, at the last Rust-O-Rama that is.
Check it out if you want, a very professionally edited video.

    (Wow, I look so old....)

We all look old. Otherwise, we wouldn't be on this forum.

YES! I think I like the 4 door slammed Buick(59?) best that appeared right before your wagon!

We?! They look old. Biological aging must not necessarilly coincide with numerical aging :coffee:

Any wife can tell you that the behavioral, emotional and intellectual age of a husband is independent of his biological / chronological age. I'm 71 and my wife often tells me I never moved past 15. She is probably right but I seem to like it this way. In some ways I am still the 9 year old who took the bus into town to check out the new model 1958 cars. 1958 was a big deal - quad headlights on the big 3.

As long as you don't move past being 15 years old in bed, she's likely never to go after that notorious pack of cigarettes of no return

Hmm. Thought it was funny that she took up smoking cigars. Never smokes them in front of me tho. Just find them here when I come back from fishing.

It was hot here yesterday. Got up to 98 and I had to work at the sign shop.
But... I managed to replace some old decals on the wagon in the cool of the morning. (cool being 79)

You see, these decals have been on the Surf Rat for about 8 years and were looking pretty ragged.

So... new decals were printed on white vinyl adhesive material, cut out on a plotter and then a masking material applied on top.
Some of the tools are a scraper to remove the old decals, application tools, adhesive remover and glass cleaner.

First step is with soapy water and a razor, the old are stripped away.
It helps that it was warm weather as the vinyl came off fairly smoothly.
Then adhesive remover and a paper towel made quick work of clean up.

The new decal is lined up and taped down using masking tape as a hinge.
Lift up along the hinge and remove the backing paper.
Then going back and forth with one inch increasing passes.... 'mow the lawn' putting down the vinyl.
Go back over it with a harder paddle to make sure the vinyl is down firm.
Then spray the glass cleaner on the transfer material and peel it off.

    Done!
(Repeat for the other side.... of course.)

    Good for another 8 years!
But some of those surf stickers need replacing soon I suppose.
    Oh well,

    Respectfully submitted,

Yeah, unfortunately, surf stickers are just about like any other stickers, and they need replacing every so often. You can still get new ones of all the big SoCal and Hawaiian shops, right?

Do you print too, or just cut? Gotta love those half moon felt squeegees. That's why I ask if you print.
