I am in the process of buying this car. I have quite a history with it, other wise probably would not drive 350 miles to get it. It was my childhood next door neighbors car. Plane jane, yes. This car saved my life, at 13 years old. Thanks Dave.
Pretty sweet rig. Congratulations on the purchase. I think the full size '72 Ford is the last 70's full size Ford I would consider until they down-sized in '79.
Congrats. Sounds like quite a story, and how great it is the actual car from your childhood memory. I do love that gold color. Just keep in mind those rear seats won’t fit in an Olds..... lol But having Ford and Mercury station wagons growing up, that wagon will haul the grand kids beautifully.
Would love to hear the story some time Dave, if it’s not to personal, and you don’t mind sharing. Again good luck on the car, and glad you got it.
Saving my life is a bit of an exaggeration, but it was my ambulance. At 13 years old(1973) I fell from a second-story Hayloft in the barn behind our house. Put a 5 inch gash in my arm at the inner elbow. My mom was too upset to drive me to the hospital. My neighbor mr. Smith came to the rescue, and drove me the 30 miles to Crittenton Hospital, in Rochester Michigan. Still have a visible scar there. I have many good memories also in this car. This car is set up to haul a camper. Went camping a few times with them. They always took top-notch care of this car. Rarely drove it in the winter. It is a Michigan car. Thanks Dave
Actually have not finish the deal yet. The guy I'm buying it from had to go out of town for a couple of weeks. My childhood friend has a tremendous amount of paperwork on this car, including the original canceled checks when he bought it.
