Looks like it could be a solid project car. I like the 58 Chevrolet 4 door wagons. But I don't think the name "Nomad" should have ever been affixed to something with more than two doors.

I've forgotten about the Chevelle based Nomads, et al. To me the only real Nomad is the 2 door wagon of the 50's.

You mean, the Nomad name has been abused, beginning with the re-tooling which took place just before 1958?

OrthmannJ: Do you know if the '58 "Impala" wagon ever got finished? The picture date stamp is 2005. Wonder where it is now.

I don't know. I did a search on the google machine and that's all I came up with.
In the mix of photos it does show that it was painted and placed back on the chassis. I also found a section of customer cars on the Art Morison website that showed this car, but it was also in an unfinished state.
I would love to see the finished product, but as of yet I have been unable to find it.

No kidding. Love that ‘60. That was my ride home from the hospital was a white / Turquoise ‘60 Nomad wagon.

They really should have named '58s and up anything else other than Nomad, if they were to be built different than the Tri-Fives, regarding the number of doors and styling interpretation, just to do justice to the Nomad name. I won't suggest calling them No Mads, though
When was the last time anybody saw a Vista Cruiser without an extended roof?
