Couple days ago I posted a normal update post and the pics didn't show after posting.
So deleted it and reposted the next day and the pics showed.
    Now it is totally gone.

Couldn't even log in yesterday and now that I can, my post is gone.
    Do I need re-post?
Did you do a re-load of the forum from server back-up?

I noticed that the site was completely inaccessible for a short while earlier today. Just a "site not found, check your internet connection" message from my browser. My internet connection was fine.

I have found that, in general, this site hiccups once in a while. It is not uncommon for me to find it to be VERY slow to load, and then 10 minutes later it loads just fine. Or if I write a reply and click "Post Reply," it will sit there for five minutes with the screen partially faded to white like it does doing nothing before the reply is actually posted and the page returns to normal.

Yeah, I got that too the day before yesterday... the "site not found thing".

But my post disappearing is weird.

I made my original post on Monday the 15th of October 2018 in the year of our Lord!
Red X for all pics so I deleted that.
Tuesday I couldn't find the forum.
Wednesday when the forum showed up again, I posted again and the pics showed.
Thursday morning all posts I made on Wednesday were gone.
Tried a test post on Thursday afternoon and it still shows a red X.

Me too. Even older posts now have red X's in them where the images should be. It's like the link to the database holding the images is wrong/corrupt. Right clicking and "show image" just shows another red X.

There is no database holding these images to link to. The red x's are appearing for images that are posted on another website and linked to here. You post images like that by clicking on the little "mountain range" button next to the smiley face icon in the menu bar and then enter the URL of the image. That was easiest to do by right-clicking on the image, clicking on "Copy Image Location" on the dropdown list, and then pasting the link into the dialog box that pops up when you click on the mountain range button. It seems that this website, in spite of the presence of the mountain range button, is no longer allowing linking to images hosted on other sites.

You still CAN post images here by not using the mountain range button but rather by downloading the image from whatever site to your computer and then uploading to this site using the "Upload a File" button on the lower right side next to the "Post Reply" button.

Found a workaround for the image issue

Please keep me posted if this happens again.

I re-posted my missing post, but this time, instead of just linking the web address of the original pic, I copied the pics to my computer, and posted those .jpegs.

Use the 'mountain' icon for posting links. Use the 'camera' icon for posting pics that are on your own computer.

I also had posts disappear, but things seem to back to normal now. I was able to copy and past an image into a post earlier today and it seemed to stick. It looks like the workaround Stefan came up with does the trick.

That'll work fine for the images that're still there. For the others which still X upon reply, good luck trying to revive them again

Is it just me or are others also not able to get the links to work on the right most column of the page?
