Don't like the Paisley door panel.

Lovely instruments. I previously thought they were only available in black. I could almost overlook the Paisley treatment, with guages like those to stare at

I don't mind the door panels too much (I think they could be put back to stock without too much difficulty, if one couldn't live with them), but I don't care for the steering wheel at all.

If this were a running and driving car and as rust-free as it appears in the pics, I would say jump on it for the asking price. As it is, I'd say it's a bit of a gamble on the mechanicals, and I'd advise anyone to walk away, if any but the most minor of rust is detected.

I've always found the '64 Fairlane to be an exceedingly handsome car. I wish they'd made a Squire version of the wagon. But maybe it's better they didn't. My driveway is pretty crowded as it is.

I wonder why Ford didn't use light-colored background instrumentation more often. The charachter it gives to this wagon is overwhelming

If this car was a few years newer I'd be temped to think this was some groovy factory option.

My guess: Mercury Monarch (Granada twin) - '75 - '78.

Been thinking about this one for the last few minutes. The seller obviously doesn't know much about the wagon. Seems likely he's a 'flipper', who probably only paid a few hundred for the wagon. It's got some MAJOR issues, and the seller seems to think asking full boat for it is reasonable...... :stirthepot:
