He had a great opportunity to take some real pictures some time between when it was on the trailer and when it was moved into the garage. I guess he missed it. I've never understood the "car loaded on a trailer" pictures.

What's so Hurst about anything having a column shifter?

Okay, so a floorshift console was indeed optional, in Chrysler's Starfire/Wildcat/2+2 version. Although, not from Hurst, it's still better than nothing.
Ordering it optionless would only make sense, if one wanted to keep its weight as low as possible.
If the dash material wasn't so plastic cheap, it would have attracted even more buyers. Especially, if rounded instruments garnished with either woodgrain- or brushed aluminum trim was made available

Have you not heard of the Hurst-modified 426 Hemi Darts and Barracudas of 1968? The AMC Rambler Scrambler of 1969? The Hurst Olds that was over several model years? Hell, Hurst even modified 150 New York City taxicabs by lowering the floors in 1968 Dodge Coronets 1.75". Hurst shifters were just a sideline for the company in the '60s through the early '80s. The Chrysler 300-H is another car modified by the Hurst Corporation.

You do realize the 300 series was basically the "luxury musclecar" from Chrysler, right? The dashes on these are quite stylish and functional. The seats are Imperial seats, front and rear.

Yes, but the majority of pundits, back then, connected the name to the shifters. We assumed that a Hurst Olds automatically had a Hurst shifter in it. To be missing from any muscle car connected with the name seems strange, whether an automatic console or column shifter of the brand's missing. Nobody intends on visiting a Kentucky Fried Chicken outlet expecting chicken. Then getting served tacos and pizzas

Ah, but they do, along with Papa burgers and fish fillets, depending on which one they've gone to.
